All or Nothing in Manabi, Ecuador

The flood of people was impressive. The covered basketball court was full, and that means that there were approximately six hundred people.

On April 16, 2018, the documentary, All or Nothing: Sr. Clare Crockett, premiered in Supercinemas in Portoviejo, with an audience of 175 people, and in Cinext in Manta, with 279 spectators.

The communities of Chone and Playa Prieta, Manabi, Ecuador split the tickets. From Chone they organized three buses to go to Manta. The young women from Chone had handed out packets of tissues with the sign of All or Nothing on them. They came in handy, because many had to use them. From Playa Prieta, after the Mass to begin the school year, we left with two buses full of students from the “Holy Family Educational Unit.” There were young people that had known Sr. Clare, or that had even been her students.

In Portoviejo the theater was full. Among the audience was Msgr. Eduardo Castillo, auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Portoviejo. He was very impressed by Sr. Clare’s life and by the amount of testimonies that had been gathered.

In Playa Prieta, the six o’clock Mass was celebrated in the chapel that has been built on top of the place where Sr. Clare and the five girls died. The chapel was fuller than usual and we had to put chairs outside. After Mass, we screened the documentary in the school. The flood of people was impressive. The covered basketball court was full, and that means that there were approximately six hundred people. The enthusiastic applause at the end proved that the people were impacted by the life of our dear Sr. Clare, who had died in that very place.

A prayer of thanksgiving to God is continuously in our hearts for all the good that she has done to us.
