Sr. Clare's Last Song

Sr. Beatriz Liano, SHM:  After receiving news of her death, it was as if the Lord asked us to join the song, repeating our "amen" that accepts God's will wholeheartedly.

When the earthquake began on April 16, 2016, Sr. Clare and the girls were singing an upbeat song in guitar class. Their peals of laughter could be heard throughout the whole house. In this article you can listen to the last song Sr. Clare sang.

On Saturday evenings after five o'clock Mass at the parish, Sr. Clare taught guitar lessons to a group of girls. The earthquake on April 16, 2016, found Sr. Clare at the point of finishing the class that day. Some of the girls had not attended. The Lord, and those girls as well, know why they did not have to be there.

When the lesson was nearly over, to conclude the time spent together, Sr. Clare began to sing a well-known song by Matt Maher called, "All The People Said Amen," a lively song. Sr. Clare took advantage of the occasion to make the girls laugh, imitating the American singer. Their joyful laughter could be heard throughout the house as Sr. Clare repeated the chorus over and over again: "And all the people said amen," confirming the message of each verse, that is, thanksgiving to God because His love endures forever, because we are so poor that all we have is God's mercy. Yet, thanks be to God, that mercy is all we need. And all the people said amen!!

The start of the earthquake brusquely interrupted the song, but left its message forever united to Sr. Clare's life. After receiving news of her death, it was as if the Lord asked us to join the song, repeating our "amen" that accepts God's will wholeheartedly. "And all the people said amen. Give thanks to the Lord for His love never ends."

Below you can find the official music video of "All The People Said Amen."
