A Big Thyroid Tumor

Sr. Clare

Luzneida:  I would like to share a testimony so that you all may join in giving thanks with me. Last summer was full of worries, but today I can say that it was an immense blessing.

Luzneida writes from Puerto Rico to thank God for the grace received for her sister.

Good evening, Sisters and Home of the Mother family. I would like to share a testimony so that you all may join in giving thanks with me. Last summer was full of worries, but today I can say that it was an immense blessing. One of my sisters had been having a hard time swallowing and her voice was often hoarse. Doctors found a big tumor in her thyroid. I am a nurse, and by the results from the exams and symptoms I knew that she was not okay. I began to beg Our Lord for mercy for my sister. She has three kids, and the youngest is two. I told Sr. Clare: “All or nothing. Healing her is the first option.” I spoke to my sister about Sr. Clare and prayed on a daily basis to Sr. Clare. Several times during the Home of the Mother’s live broadcast of the Mass, I wrote asking for prayers for my sister explaining that I entrusted her to Sr. Clare. Right away one of the Sisters wrote me back asking me what my sister's name was.

One day a received a call from the hospital saying that I had to go urgently to pick up the results of the biopsy. Generally, when someone is asked to come before a scheduled appointment, it is because they have bad news and the patient needs immediate attention. My eyes were filled with tears once again, and I begged Sr. Clare for my sister's cure. I want her to see her children grow up.

That weekend, the whole family gathered together for a potluck lunch at my parents’ house. Not giving it much thought, my sister informed them about her health problems and that she probably had cancer. She asked them to pray for her. I looked into the distance and implored Sr. Clare again: “All or nothing. I ask for her healing.” I went with my sister to the appointment. In a deafening silence, we waited for them to call us. The doctor told us that everything had gone well. He recommended keeping her under observation.

When we left, my sister and I could not stop praising God and thanking Him for his blessings, care and protection. Now, in February 2020—eight months after the appointment—my sister has no pain, problem or difficulty with her throat or thyroid. Thank You, Lord, through Sr. Clare’s intercession, for keeping my sister in good health. AMEN.
