My husband and I watched Sr. Clare Crockett’s movie this summer and we were deeply moved and inspired by her story. We have two little boys and we are older parents (42), so our chances of having another child were not the best. After watching the movie about Sr. Clare, I was inspired to pray for her intercession that we might conceive a little girl. Just 3 weeks later, we found out we were expecting—and it is a girl! Her name is Clare Marie. She is due to be born on the Feast of Corpus Christi: June 14, 2020.
But now, our precious Clare Marie needs as many prayers as she can get. At my 12-week ultrasound an anomaly was detected that would indicate a very high likelihood of genetic defects or structural defect—most common would be a heart or brain problem. We have decided not to undergo genetic testing because of the risk to the baby. I will be having more frequent ultrasounds and fetal echocardiograms and there will be a bigger neonatal team present at the birth in case she needs it. However, there is a small chance our Clare Marie could be born perfectly healthy. We believe that God can do anything and that prayers bring miracles.
Please join us in praying over the next 6 months that our baby Clare Marie will be born healthy, happy, holy and strong through Sr. Clare’s intercession and Our Blessed Mother.
Please share this message with anyone who you think would pray with us.
