Michael O’Connell: I was thinking about her today and of those who commit their lives to Jesus and these words came to mind. In some ways, this was my conversation with her today.
We want to share this poem with you, written in Sr. Clare’s own native land. Michael O’Connell, from Co. Kerry, has sent it to us with this note, “I was thinking about her today and of those who commit their lives to Jesus and these words came to mind. In some ways, this was my conversation with her today.”
Sister Clare Maria of the Trinity and of the Heart of Mary
Christ’s call I did hear
At His feet it all became clear
The cross of nails a gift to me
No please no not for me
A TV star I am to be
No poverty, chastity, or obedience for me
Let the stars shine in my face
An audience I will grace
God touched my heart with a celestial voice
Like Saul a different path is my choice
Christ came to set us free
We hanged him on a tree
His perfect love for you and I
In God’s grace to live we must try
The world looked at me in wonder
Everything to God is my thunder
This world is not my place
Alone with Christ alone is my grace
