Sr. Eva Luz González: I know that Sr. Clare has already begun her mission here on earth, especially by reminding each consecrated soul that God alone suffices, and that we must dedicate ourselves to Him with all of the strength of our heart.
Good afternoon, dear sisters… My name is Sr. Eva Luz González, Carmelite of Saint Joseph. I am Mexican. For a while now, I have wanted to get in touch with you, but as the word of God says: He knows how, when and where. So, since His hour is perfect, I think the moment has arrived to write you…
I have temporary vows in the Institute of Carmelite Sisters of Saint Joseph. My message may surprise you all, yet I can say joyfully that I feel that I am a Sr. Clare miracle. Let me tell you a little bit about myself…
Last year I was sent to Mexico, or should I say, I asked to come. After eight years over there, I felt that my vocation was starting to die out. The place was not the problem; it was me. Now I realize that perhaps I had not discovered the world that I had in me. I came to Mexico thinking that I would leave my congregation, since I did not think I was suitable for this kind of life. Maybe the disappointment I felt and not knowing how to face situations made me seek the easy way out: abandoning God’s project.
Last October, I was already at death’s door in my religious life. A friend sent me the documentary of Sr. Clare with this message: “Look, Luz, I saw this and thought of you.” It was a very pleasant surprise for me. It came just when I needed it. After I watched the documentary, nothing was the same. I adopted her as my protector and I know that she has helped me to find my way again.
In January I did Ignatian Spiritual Exercises for a month. There was a meditation titled, “The Call of the Eternal King.” It was very beautiful. We had to imagine someone important to us, and I chose Sr. Clare. There was a moment in which I imagined her inviting me to fill this world with joy and hope. It was beautiful to say, “Yes, I will. Yes, I will help you.” Then, Sr. Clare disappeared and Jesus was the One who called me… It was impossible to say no. It was like going back to my first calling. When I finished Spiritual Exercises, my vocation was strengthened to the point that I asked to make solemn vows. The congregation gave me permission to do so on July 16, 2019, and I am very happy because of all of this.
I know that Sr. Clare has already begun her mission here on earth, especially by reminding each consecrated soul that God alone suffices, and that we must dedicate ourselves to Him with all of the strength of our heart.
Thanks be to God for his FAITHFULNESS and to Sr. Clare for being at my side. May God continue to bless and accompany you all with abundant and holy vocations. Thank you very much for everything. Please pray for the consecration of my life to God through my solemn vows.
