Okay… so here is my little questionnaire sheet for you (haha). You don’t have to answer all the questions, only answer the ones you want to.
1) Who/what was the hardest thing you had to leave?
Sr. Clare: A lot of things…family, friends, guys, smoking, dancing – Smoking was very hard to give up…oh and music.
2) How did you know that God was calling you for this?
Sr. Clare: It was something that totally didn’t come from me. I wasn’t exactly living like a nun and really DIDN’T want to. I knew it was the will of God for me because even though the thought of vocation scared me, I was sure that God was asking me to leave everything and it’s weird, but deep, deep down when I was with the Sisters I had peace.
3) What is the hardest thing you have to do?
Sr. Clare: Die to myself!
4) Does your life have more meaning now than it did before? Why?
Sr. Clare: Before I did everything for selfish reasons, for my own pleasure – I lived for myself. That’s just stupid. God created us for much more. “He didn’t create us for comfort but for greatness” (Pope B) There is so much to give to the world, there is so much good to be done. When you stop living for yourself, when you obey and live for God- everything is different – it has meaning, it’s worth something.
5) Is it hard not to have attachments/do your commitments?
Sr. Clare: He is stronger than our weakness. If He sees that you’re truly open, He gives the grace – FOR REAL YO!
