A Mission for Valeria

Valeria

Sr. Reme Rodrigeuz, SHM, and Sr. Conchi Garcia del Pino, SHM:  The abortion would take place at 9 a.m. the next day. Sr. Conchi, after speaking with Conchita, went through the house asking all the sisters she found to pray.

h reme h conchiThis article has been sent to us from the community of Servant Sisters of the Home of the Mother in Zurita in Cantabria, Spain. After receiving an urgent prayer petition for a baby whose parents had decided to abort, the community of sisters asked Valeria – if she could intercede- to pray for that child’s life. This is the result.

A few days ago, Conchita Ibanez, a lay member of the Home of the Mother who is very involved in the pro-life movement, called us with an urgent prayer petition. She had met a couple that was expecting a child, but that had made the decision to abort. After a long conversation with some members of the pro-life movement, they decided to continue on with the pregnancy. However, when they went back to the hospital for a check-up, they ran into the midwife who convinced them once again to have an abortion. She even set up an appointment for them. The abortion would take place at 9 a.m. the next day. Sr. Conchi, after speaking with Conchita, went through the house asking all the sisters she found to pray.

A few hours later, when the sisters gathered for lunch, Sr. Conchi once again asked everyone to pray for this child's life. Sr. Estela said that we should entrust this mission to Valeria. Everyone agreed, but Sr. Reme realized that they needed a sign – if the couple continued on with the pregnancy – to know that it had been through Valeria’s intercession. She asked the sign to be that the couple would not keep the appointment with the midwife, not even to tell her that they were going to have the baby.

The next day Conchita called again. She was very happy. The couple had decided to continue on with the pregnancy. We received the sign. The couple had not gone to the appointment and, therefore, had not seen the midwife.
