To be honest I miss her a ton, but it makes me very happy to know that, by God’s mercy, I will see her one day.
Hello! I’m a girl from Chone, Ecuador. I met Mayra in the Home of the Mother’s youth group, in the meetings on Sundays.
Mayra always was a very fun girl. As soon as the meeting ended, we always used to play soccer. She loved soccer and always encouraged the other girls to play. She always used to tell me, “Come on, let’s play. Soccer is fun.” And I would say, “No, I don’t like to play.” To be honest I never liked soccer, but she never gave up, ever, and always encouraged me.
Mayra helped me a great deal to grow closer to the Home of the Mother. She always kept an eye on me so that I wouldn’t become distant, so that I would go to Mass, and so that I was always faithful. She used to call me mi niña (my girl).
To be honest I miss her a ton, but it makes me very happy to know that, by God’s mercy, I will see her one day. And not just her, but all of the girls and Sr. Clare.
