Guadalupe Cedeño Ruiz , Ecuador:  She was a huge help for me a few days before the earthquake.

Guadalupe Cedeno Ruiz is a survivor of the earthquake that took place on April 16, 2016, in Ecuador. In this testimony, she remembers a conversation she had with Mayra Alcivar, just a few days before the earthquake in which Mayra lost her life along with Sr. Clare and the other four Home of the Mother girls. At that moment, Guadalupe was an aspirant in the Servant Sisters of the Home of the Mother. She knew that it was time to take another step and enter as a candidate, but she just would not jump.

Mayra was very, very good. I really liked being around her. I felt that she helped me. She was a huge help for me a few days before the earthquake. I was struggling because I did not want to take the step to enter as a candidate. Mayra came up to me and said, "You don't know how much the Lord wants you to surrender yourself totally to Him." During those days, she also told me that she had received the grace to experience, in some way, the Lord's pain and sadness caused by the unfaithfulness of souls, which touched her very deeply. That's why she told me, "You don't know how much I want you to enter as a candidate," and she gave me a hug.
