I met Catalina at an adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. I remember that Maria Augusta and Mayra were the ones who introduced me to her. The first thing she asked me was, “Are you in love with Jesus?” I answered, “I am not in love, just an instrument of His grace.”
As time went on, I entered the seminary and received the surprise of finding Catalina, Mayra, and Mercedes at the St. Peter Technological Institute in Sciences and Values. We said “hello” to each other, and when Catalina found out that I was a seminarian, with a huge smile said, “I told you that you were in love!” We cracked up laughing.
That year I served in the library. When Catalina and Mayra would come to make photocopies o borrow books, they were always smiling. They recommended that those of us in the library should smile, and be kind and respectful, showing that we had Jesus in our heart.
Catalina impressed me a lot. She was always very edifying, outgoing, respectful, and waged war at the sight of injustice.
